My fire bellied toads

I will admit I used to have "Nine Aquatic Armors," as I called them. Unfortunately, the goldfish that made up six of the armors died due to a chemical imbalance when I had to change from their usual water treating chemicals to a different brand.

In any case, I still have two very healthy little boys by the names of Sage of the Bubble Halo and Rowen of the Island Strata.

This is Sage of the Bubble Halo just enjoying the sunlight from my window.

A slightly better shot of Sage modified to be the Easter Toad.

Taking into consideration that commonly tanks for these toads don't have such deep water, mine don't seem to care. As a matter of fact, they seem to love it. They also don't seem to mind and have adapted to freeze-dried crickets. They didn't go for the idea at first, but not having the crickets drown on them made sense. They get live crickets every now and then as a treat but I use tweezers the rest of the time to feed them their crickets. What they kick into the water, the fish take care of unless the toads jump in and attack as they've done from time to time.

Now for the all-important question: why do these toads bear the names of the Ronin Warriors? Simple: I have a TV with a DVD player at a 90 degree angle to the tank. They watch the DVDs I have of the dubbed series from their island.

Sage's story: he falls off the island when something happens to his namesake like being kidnapped or beaten.

Rowen's the second toad, so here's his story: he would sing when something happened to his namesake then he'd swim to the front of the tank and sing as if to say, "You can beat that bad guy! What a pushover! You're waaaaaaaaay tougher than that villain! You can outsmart any of those bucket heads!"

In spite of what some sources say, the toads have developed into strong swimmers and healthy eaters.

This was a luck shot. Rowen of Island Strata and Rowen of Strata. Literally, it's Rowen and Rowen!
