Present website updates

This site is very

Though after the construction is over - which will no doubt take quite a while, it will have the coveted W3C certification for clean code (hopefully).

August 28, 2010

This has been an exciting month despite my e-book being put on hold due to illness within the publishing company.

My mini doll collection is expanding at quite an amazing rate. From Virgo, Blue Nite Soldier, Nyxus, Dream Angel and Firebright, I have added Larissa Arum, Katrilina, Foxy, Teikou no Senshi, Red Nite Soldier, Kiryoku, a standard Reprobate, Gina and Stygere to the collection to keep Energia company. To show you the irrisitibly adorable little dolls, I've started a whole new section just for them on this site. Not all my characters are ready, but the ones remaining are well underway and quite under construction themselves. Just in case you're wondering when you see Gina and Stygere in particular and compare them with the drawings on their character pages: Gina has undergone a redesign and I took a bit of creative lisence with Stygere's boots and pants. Usually, he's got black pants and brown boots, but I cut the pieces wrong and didn't catch it until I'd already sewn the pants and boots on the doll. I could take out the stitching and fix the problem, but I've found I like him better with brown pants and black boots.

The other item of news for me would be the addition of live plants and snails for Rowen and Sage in their tank. The boys adore the plants and have fun picking on the poor snails when they come to the surface of the water, which is the toads' domain. In following the example of my sister's "Kidisms" I've got "toadisms" and "snailisms" to laugh at. Unfortunately, out of the six snails I've bought, only three have thus far survived. So, I have Rowen, Sage the toads, Castle, Drawbridge, and No Fishing the snails. Why do the snails have those names? Simple: the first thing Castle did was try to cross the drawbridge of the castle in the bottom of the tank that has bubbles coming out from under the drawbridge, causing it to rise and fall. The snail rode the drawbridge for a moment before going all the way across and climbing the wall of the castle itself, where it stayed for quite a while. Drawbridge, on the other hand, did almost the same thing as Castle, but instead of entering the castle, he fell into the plastic moat of the castle with the bubbles under the drawbridge. No Fishing earned his name by going up the sign in the corner of the tank that is a frog holding a "No Fishing" sign and pointing into the tank, backwards.

The remaining piece of news is this: classes start Monday for me. As one of those is a web development class, expect improvements to this website as the class ends in early December. I doubt the improvements will end with the class, however. If you have any suggestions for this site, don't hesitate to use the comment boxes or my contact page or even my blog to tell me.
