Dream Angel

This is just a preview, not a complete novel. A simple teaser to help create interest in my stories.
The Present
“Let me out!” screams an eighteen-year-old girl with flaming red hair that’s pulled back with curled ends. A feathery saffron orange mask hides the fear and anger in her eyes. She wears a costume of saffron orange boots with transparent feathers attached at the calf, a circle skirt, transparent feathery wrist-length gloves, a bra with a brooch in its center, the mask that obscures her identity to others, feather post earrings, a hair tie to keep her hair, except for two tufts in front of her ears, under control, and an orange headband. To finalize her appearance, the reason for her current frustration: her broad, powerful pure-white wings.
On this dark, rainy night her enemies had chosen to attack for their greatest advantage over her: she would be unable to fly in the down pouring storm and forced to fight on the ground.
After losing the battle on the ground to forces with superior numbers, she had been put in a way-too-small cage that forced her into a crouching position. Her concern is not for herself as she overhears her captors’ conversation.
“With Dream Angel at long last defeated, we can destroy the bloodline of the Goddess once and for all,” a creature with maroon skin, black wild hair, a long tail and black bat-like wings comments.
“You won’t get away with this Xalibe!” she yells, causing the Reprobate Elite to turn to her and laugh.
“I’d like to see you try and stop me,” he laughs. “Your life as Arora Arum is…” BOWOOM! An explosion behind him forces her to recoil involuntarily.
“…Over,” he finishes and walks away laughing. She considers using her Feather Blaster on him, but he’s out of range too swiftly, next she considers it on the bars of her tiny prison, but decides the explosion in the cramped cage would be more likely to kill her than help her.

Much as I personally hate cliffhangers, that’s all you get! Keep comments and suggestions, even critiques polite please! Also, if you’d like to read the rest, here’s the publisher to tell: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Agora-International-eBooks/79159503327?sk=wall Mention you’ve read the preview on my blog and want to read the rest published by them. If I can generate enough interest in this novel, they hopefully won’t be so unsure about publishing it. The last I’ve heard from them, they wanted to move forward, but since it’s “anime in novel format” they’re uncertain about how the market will react. Help me show them the world is ready for a whole new genre of novel!

Newly replaced blog

Apologies for not updating this blog sooner, life’s kept me busy and obviously updating this blog is a more critical activity than I initially thought since all the old entries are now gone forever.
This blog is a place where I can easily put in thoughts and offer the ability to discuss ideas for stories with readers.
Now that the old entries are gone forever (tragically) I can do a mass update: Last year I took the time to submit a short story version of Dream Angel to a publisher, who accepted it – for a premium price! After a lengthy search for a suitable publisher that would at least read it, it was suggested I look at e-book publishers. It was with one that I found success, but it was short-lived as they initially accepted and sent a contract it didn’t take them too long to decide they didn’t have the budget for short stories after all the fuss they’d made over my story.
This year, I submitted a novel-length version of the same story in February and after some steady nagging got an answer of their editors being “split” because my story is considered “experimental fiction” and “essentially anime in novel format.” To my mild annoyance, I’ve heard precious little since.
Since my forced change in major – due to Westwood College being a MASSIVE disappointment (see the facebook group “Warnings About Westwood” and www.westwoodscammed.me), I’ve found part-time freelance work in my field of study: web development.
With this nice restart in my blog, I’ll try to keep a closer eye on it in an effort to see if anyone has questions regarding websites or even the content of my main site. I ask that any comments, questions, or even critiques be kept to site-related and polite. I’ll answer a polite critic, but not a rude one. The rude one will find their comment deleted and blocked.
