Signed book + character plush bundle?

A signed book and character plush bundled together for one price? Am I seeing ears perk up? Well, the price might even turn a few heads. The price that’s being settled on is $25, including shipping.

So, how will the bundles work? Well, Dream Angel is getting the bundling first. So, here’s how it’ll go:

  • Dream Angel #1 + Dream Angel plush action figure
  • Dream Angel #2-20 + fan’s choice character plush action figure
  • Some books between might have a particular character paired with them, but most will be fan’s choice

In other news, Dream Angel #21 will be released on Thursday, January 28, 2016! Since the site’s acting up about images, unfortunately, those will have to wait, but the product page will be live that day. I’ll also be able to order the proof copy of the printed version which soon after will appear on indyplanet with the books that came before it. As for adding Dream Angel #19 and Dream Angel #20 to indyplanet, there have been some setbacks with that process beyond my control. As soon as the problems are worked out, I’m sure they’ll be live as well.

For those still awaiting news on Techwarrior #3, that one ought to start production soon. How soon, is hard to say, but when it’s green lighted, I’ll make sure you know immediately! A small teaser for it would be that the action gets more intense and soon new characters are introduced. It’s a book worth anticipating, so keep an eye out for news on it!

Warrior of mystery: Techwarrior

techwarriorTechwarrior is a warrior of mystery, but then, what ninja isn’t? History shows that real ninja were highly skilled specialized assassins. Well, Techwarrior might not keep the assassin aspect of his real-world counterparts, but he is a highly skilled warrior.

Not too much is known about his background except that he’s a strong anti-virus living inside computers to defend them from attack. As the books quickly establish, he’s a strong fighter. Along the way, he enjoys making little jokes to help lighten the mood as well.

An important counterpart to him is Sensei the dragon, who is his mentor and trainer. Very fast and extremely agile, this dragon provides a great deal of guidance when things go wrong for our hero. Luckily, he also knows when to stand back and let Techwarrior do what needs to be done, as well.

Techwarrior’s other important counterpart, could also be part love interest… maybe. Aishi Teru is almost as skilled as Techwarrior himself, but what she lacks in skill she makes up for in cleverness. Her key weakness is snakes, though. Being scared to death of snakes (to the point of jumping into Techwarrior’s arms!) makes her very vulnerable. Her reason for this fear is quite tragic, though.

As Techwarrior might explain it, his counterparts are his heart and soul. Take away even one and he’s terribly restless and uneasy. Injure one and the injuring party had better be extremely careful.

There’s a hint of magic in Techwarrior’s world, but most of it is technology. Most of it is very sleek and polished, as well.

What do you think? Is he pretty cool? His plush action figure (both of them) is available in the shop. You’ll also find he’s got 5 books and a 5 book collection in the shop as well.

New books coming soon!!

There’s new books in the works that should soon be complete! Techwarrior #7 is reday and waiting for final approval, Techwarrior #8 is already in production and Dream Angel #26 is also in production! True, the goal has always been a book a month and lately that hasn’t been the case, but keep in mind a lot has happened the last couple years to disrupt that routine. With things finally settling down into a more regular routine, the book-a-month goal can once again resume.

As for the plush action figures, well, they’ve seen some improvements lately, as nearly anyone in our Facebook group knows. To make the faces look more like they do in the books, makeup is used instead of paint. Needle sculpting the faces has seen improvement, as well as with anything new, practice makes perfect!

So, what else is new for 2019? Well, one goal is to see the books and action figures on local comic book store shelves and possibly get tables at local comic conventions or trade shows of some sort.

To date, just about everyone who’s seen the books and soft action figures agree there’s a local market for them, it’s merely a matter of getting them seen and known.

So, with some hard work and determination, 2019 looks to be an exciting year.

Join us and help make these books and soft action figures more well known. Share anything you like from this site and help spread the word! Sharing things from the store even earns you a 10% discount!

Techwarrior #7 soon to be released!

Hey, Techwarrior fans!

You’ll be happy to know Techwarrior #7 is soon to be released! Okay, so no date has been set yet, but rendering has finished and after some post production, it’ll be able to join the already large list of books available!

Think about it, there’s 25 books in the Dream Angel series and 6 for Techwarrior already available. That’s 31 books! Not counting the new editions of Dream Angel #1 or any of the collection books. An impressive roster, wouldn’t you agree?

Now, I’ll agree it seems like making these books is so easy they can be made over night, but that’s far from the case. Matter of fact, there’s a very long process involved. Writing being among the hardest parts at times. Sure, almost anyone can write a story, but how good is that story? By good I mean does it keep a reader’s attention?

So, we have writing and editing, both very time consuming alone. When the script is finally settled, figuring out paneling and even layouts can be rough. Now, I’m not affiliated with it at all, but I use ComicLife for layouts. The plus for me is the fact that I can just drag and drop my final renders for each panel into that panel. Since it also has the script in a drag and drop setup for dialogue and narration, I’m able to adjust those to suit the layouts. Again, no images yet!

Well, what about all those awesome renders in the books? Surely, they took hours to draw, right? It would take a far more skilled artist than I am to hand draw those renders! Sure, I’m a skilled artist, but hand art isn’t my strong suit.

Technically, the computer draws the art, but I have to tell it what to draw and how. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Not by a long shot! Just like hand art, telling the computer what to draw in 3D takes a lot of time, study and practice! I’ve been at it about 10 years now and I still haven’t quite gotten all the basics figured out!

How then, do I make these fantastic images? Keep in mind I’m self-taught and this is a very steep learning curve. Add in constant improvements to the programs being released meaning new features need to be studied and learned. Makes it a lot more complicated than a simple pencil and paper. For those willing to take the time to study and practice, it can be a lot of fun and very rewarding, though.

Get the books from the store and you’ll see very quickly where updates to programs or a new skill had a direct impact on the art of the books.

Techwarrior #6 Saturday, April 7th!

Yep! It’s time for the long-awaited release of Techwarrior #6! This coming Saturday April 7th, we’ll be having a live event and an online event.

If you can get to the live event, you’ll get to meet the authors and artist, buy signed books and even get plush action figures of the characters right there. Quantities at the event will be limited, however.

As a special treat for that day only, signed Techwarrior #6 books

will be available here on the site in the shop, but if you can get to the event, you really should! So, from Noon to 2:30 P.M. at

Big Bang Comics

437 Broad St

Sewickley, PA

You’ll find the event in full swing!

On the Dream Angel side, Dream Angel #25 is in production and despite a week’s delay for an HDRI that needed rendering, it’s coming along beautifully because the HDRI now provides light and background to speed up the renders that go in the book.

You might also possibly have noticed that there’s new characters in the shop. Yep! Cryptolock, Infiltrator, Sensei and Aishi Teru have all joined Techwarrior in the shop as soft action figures!

As a creator, (if I may be permitted the personal reference) Sensei and Infiltrator are an amazingly good-looking pair of creatures. Both designed from scratch and both turned out absolutely amazing.

Adding to the weapons list will be Cryptolock’s whip. Made with a soft handle that has a magnet inside so he can “hold” it magnetically, it will feature a silvery braid for the actual whip.

Pictures will be appearing when it’s finished in the Facebook group everyone’s welcome to join: Dream Angel, Techwarrior and Hillbilly Hoot Comic Books! You’ll also find the online Facebook party event for Techwarrior #6 there! We’ll be partying here on the Active discussions page, too!
