Web Services

I'm willing to admit it: I'm a student. HOWEVER, don't let that chase you away, please! While the word student means I'm learning, it doesn't mean I'm incapable of building, managing and maintaining a website. I also like to think that even after I get a degree in web development I will continue being a student and forever learning new things about websites. In this respect, I will always be a student even after attaining professional status.

That being said, I'd like to ask, "What can I do for you?" Would you like a basic website for personal reasons, a simple e-commerce site with PayPal handling transactions, or perhaps something a little fancier maybe?

My current portfolio of websites includes this one you see and all its respective sub-domains I use for organization of my vast content, Mom's site shirleyscreativedesigns.com and pea-vine-art-works.com. Each site is unique in its own way. This main site has character profiles for my novel and comic books. Mom's site is where she displays her cloth dolls, doll clothes and soft toys. Pea Vine Art Works is currently just getting started, so there really isn't anything there yet... keyword being yet, of course.

In each case, something unique exists. My site shows my ability in photography, animation, drawing, painting and even video editing. Mom's site shows little galleries of her products and even my miniature doll outfits. As yet to be really seen on Pea Vine Art Works, my ability to make animated logo elements will be seen.

Now, if this is of interest to you, and you're willing to trust the eternal student to do everything humanly possible to make a site just the way you want it, read on and I'll give my base set of prices.

I can't change these, so don't ask:

Domain registration/transfer to my hosting: $10 This one's somewhat of a one-shot, since hosting renewal covers this the rest of the time.

Hosting renewal:

3 months $29.85

6 months $59.70

12 months $107.40

24 months $190.80

36 months $250.20

No, I can't change those numbers, but considering what you get, they're not all that bad.

You may be delighted to hear that my website has been with Blue Host since 2007 and has had 0 downtime that I'm aware of. I've got unlimited space, bandwidth, emails, blogs, guestbooks and all kinds of other goodies to really spice up a nice-looking website.

Upon advice from a friend that's been helping me learn, I am going to have one stern policy: If you change your mind more than once, I'll charge according to how much I must change. If it's a complete re-design after I have nearly completed a design that's been discussed, the charge is going to be $100. This means you get one free re-design before I start charging. More minor changes, such as fixing a logo image, will of course be cheaper.

One other thing: please don't assume that "mind reader" is part of my job description - it's not. I expect customer input as much as possible every step of the way. I'm no psychic, merely a web designer/developer.

Based on the renewal prices above, my prices start at $50 for making a site. This is so hosting is always covered for at least 3 months and there's no risk of any site going down due to upaid hosting.

I've also been asked about Flash-based games. Please be aware that I am entirely self-taught in Actionscript 3.0 and still learning from the ground up. This also means that I will be slower than a well-experienced Flash game maker for making games. Prices for the games depend on type, content and time. Actionscript is one of the hardest coding languages to debug and one typo can cause a long list of errors. I have no mentor, no instructor, no guide other than books and tutorials online. Because of this, I ask for a great deal of patience if you desire games on your site.

If you're still interested, feel free to use my contact page to ask for any further information you might want.
